The consequences of russia's attack on sovereign Ukraine
What is the situation today with the residents of the destroyed village of Pisky?
About "3000 VICTIMS" project
Do Ukrainians suffer from the war only since February 24, 2022?
No, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, have been suffering from russia’s actions since 2014. Even in Ukraine, many still believe that until 2022 there was only a frozen conflict between two neighboring countries. But that is not the case. The “3000 VICTIMS” project was created to ensure that the world does not forget the crimes that have been committed since 2014. Many people have lost their loved ones, homes, jobs, personal belongings, and most have not received any compensation or restitution.
Before 2014, Pisky was a developed and beautiful settlement for working people. Mostly, families of miners and workers from factories and plants in the Donetsk region lived there. There were also summer cottages of the local elite, but they were in the minority. Mostly, simple residents lived in the settlement. They spent their weekends at the local pond, clearings, and at summer houses, while weekdays were mostly quiet and peaceful. The settlement was one of the environmentally cleanest in the entire region, despite being surrounded by mines and other industrial objects. In short, it was a dream for a simple local resident without any inflated requirements.
...and this is what the village of Pisky looks like after 2014
The majority of the village residents were not prepared for and did not expect such consequences. People evacuated, leaving everything behind, almost like in Chernobyl in 1986. The opportunity to return to the village to retrieve some belongings did not appear soon. Of course, by that time, the village had already been completely looted and partially destroyed. It was unsafe to be there. The village became a “gray zone”. Conversations about the impossibility of restoring the village due to severe destructions began then. Out of more than 3,000 people living there, only about 10 local residents remained soon after. Some people died, others moved to nearby towns, and the rest scattered all over the world. Today, the village is controlled by Russian occupiers, and there are no local residents in it.
Before and after
The fates of over 3000 local residents were destroyed and almost none of them have received any compensation to this day. They had to start their lives from scratch.

What do we know about the Pisky today?
We know very little
Today there are no plans to restore the village and there are no prospects for people to return there. Most of the people have not been at home since 2014, but saw their home in the photo in 2016-2017. There is no fresh news about the village, except for the lies of the Russian media. All we can learn from social networks is that our next local resident died from the shelling of other cities of Ukraine or died without waiting for his return to his small homeland.
Today I do not know of any organization that would be able to help the residents of the village. The targeted assistance, which the displaced persons from the village of Pisky, along with other victims of the large-scale offensive in 2022, have to seek and wait for a long time, does not cover the expenses that they have incurred over these many years.
We should not forget about those who have been suffering from the military actions of russia for almost 10 years
We cannot allow the only news we receive about the inhabitants of this village to be news about another dead civilian.
